EQUESTRIAN CENTER

About Us

Owners

Tom & Meg Massung

The Torreon Equestrian Center is located in an ideal location for trail riding in the beautiful Sitgreaves National Forest in the White Mountains of Arizona.  Our facility abuts the groomed marked trails of “Tracks” trail system.

We also have an exceptionally large (52 x 88 yard) arena that is available for dressage and exercising your horse on the property.

My husband, Tom, and I purchased the equestrian center in 2021 and have made many improvements over the 4-year period, including building a hay storage barn, adding 9 new large turnouts, installing automatic waterers, and numerous upgrades to fencing and overall maintenance of the facility.  We also added 3 RV hookups and added a 37-foot RV Trailer, all available for rental.  In 2024, we added a second mare motel with 8 stalls, a large tack and feed room, expanding our boarding facility to 41 horse boarding stalls.

Prior to the start of the 2022 season, we added a rental cabin, “Haflinger House”, with a large turnout and a 12′ x 24′ run-in for 2 horses.  This “Haflinger House” is ideal for someone looking to get out of the Arizona heat with their horse and have fun trail riding in the White Mountains.

I am an avid trail rider and have enjoyed riding in the White Mountains for the past 16 summers.  During winter months, my husband and I have a small ranch with my 4 horses in Gold Canyon, AZ.  I love riding in the desert as well!  I feel so lucky to be able to trail ride all year long in great weather and on beautiful trails.

GENERAL Manager

GENERAL MANAGER
Becky Boone

Hey there!  I’m Becky – TEC General Manager, lifelong Hippophile and your equine bestie’s personal concierge.  From my first pony at 4 yrs. old, to my sweet old gelding over a half century later, horses have always been in my life.  From training, competition, instructing, breeding to helping my buddy cross the rainbow bridge – and all the little wonderful details of horse ownership that fill in the gaps – I wouldn’t be who I am without them.

My husband Dale and I and our two boys (who have given us two beautiful daughter-in-laws  and five fabulous grandbabies) enjoyed traveling the world while in the Air Force until retiring from the military in 2014.  We ended up in Montana where we started a farm and were blessed to build a life there for the past 10 years.  We now call Arizona our home and are looking forward to experiencing all it has to offer.

My goal as General Manager is to facilitate a pleasant experience for both you and your horse during your stay at TEC.  Your horse’s wellbeing is my top priority during their stay with us and you can rest assured they will be tended to with utmost care.  Whether your coming to hit the trails in the White Mountains, just relax and enjoy the cooler temps or a combination of both – I want to help your summer here exceed your expectations!

Thank you for entrusting us with your equine companion, we look forward to seeing you around the facility this summer!
